The second leg of the 2026 Guangzhou Dragon Boat Super League concluded on Aug 15 at East Lake of Baiyun Lake in Guangzhou's Baiyun district, where 32 elite dragon boat teams from across the city put on a fierce display of competition.

Among them, the Baiyun Shimen Yagang Team emerged victorious in the Longwei Group, overcoming initial setbacks with a third-place finish in the preliminaries, advancing to first in the semifinals and going on to clinch first place in the finals.

Team leader Cao Shaorong expressed pride in defending their home ground, saying, "This is our home turf, and we must defend it!" He added, "Our goal for the next race at Luhu Park is still the championship."

In addition to the thrilling water races, the event featured a dragon boat-themed market onshore, with close to 50 unique stalls highlighting the district's rich traditions and craftsmanship.
