The 2024 National Ecology Day Guangdong Province Promotion Event was held on Aug 15 at the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

During the event, China Energy News released 20 exemplary cases of comprehensive green transformation under the supervision of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, with Baiyun's garbage classification management case being the only of three recognized under the name of a government agency.

Baiyun has consistently prioritized green development through high standards and innovative thinking. Baiyun also utilizes new-generation information technology to build a smart urban management system.

The district accurately captures violations such as garbage landing, overflow, and improper disposal of kitchen waste through the use of AI automatic recognition, video surveillance, big data processing, and other information technology methods and intelligent equipment. Residents are guided to accurately classify garbage using voice prompts.

Baiyun will continue to pursue green and high-quality development, integrating urban and rural environmental governance, digital government construction, and green low-carbon industrial development, to contribute to the creation of a beautiful China.
