Baiyun advances new energy storage industry with land auctions

Updated : October 14, 2024

Two land parcels in Baiyun district were auctioned on Oct 10, marking a substantial step forward for Baiyun's burgeoning new energy storage industry. The parcels are set to host innovative industrial projects to advance energy storage and smart home technologies.

The first parcel, situated in Renhe town, is earmarked for the establishment of a collaborative innovation base dedicated to new energy storage. The project is scheduled to establish a national-local joint innovation center, focusing on research, development, and application of new energy storage technologies.

With an investment intensity of no less than 150 million yuan ($21.23 million) per hectare and a cumulative research and development expenditure of at least 500 million yuan over five years, this initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency and support green development.

The second parcel is located in Jianggao town. This site is expected to become a research and manufacturing base for smart audio systems, including a product experience center, production workshops, warehouses, and employee dormitories. The project is expected to bolster the "Baiyun Manufacturing" brand and contribute to the Baiyun's high-quality industrial growth.

Since establishing the National-Local Joint New Energy Storage Center in Baiyun last December, the area has seen massive investment from industry leaders. The successful auction of these parcels underscores Baiyun's commitment to developing a robust new energy storage industry.
