Baiyun Airport unveils new 'Sky View Surprise' landscape upgrades

Updated : January 22, 2026

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has recently launched its "Sky View Surprise" project, seamlessly integrating functionality and aesthetics in its flight zone.

A standout feature is the "We CAN" lawn, spanning nearly 7,000 square meters on a slope in the southeast apron. The vibrant green letters are visible both from the air during takeoff and landing and from the T3 observation platform.

Despite challenges such as limited construction windows and poor soil conditions, the airport created this lush landscape by replacing soil, installing dedicated pipelines, and implementing a solar-powered smart irrigation system.

The airport's "beautification plan" extends across the flight area: the North Apron's "Rainbow Bridge" now features colorful paintings on previously gray cement surfaces; a micro-terrain landscape belt near Bay 305 offers layered visual appeal; and aesthetic enhancements to wind-pipe walls at Bay 917 in the T3 apron blend industrial facilities into the airport's overall style.

Key sections have also been upgraded with repaved surfaces, updated signage, and deep cleaning to improve the passenger experience.

Through these detailed transformations, Baiyun Airport is evolving from a purely functional space into a scenic window, continuously enhancing the travel journey and inviting passengers to discover beautiful moments along the way.
