Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's Terminal 3 hosted a flash mob event on Jan 22 signalling the looming advent of the Year of the Horse.

The charming "Greater Bay Chicken" mascot made an appearance, interacting with passengers and handing out "Fu" (good fortune) characters amid a lively street dance, musical performances, and violin recitals, filling the space with a festive New Year spirit.

The event also featured a Lingnan intangible cultural heritage exhibition zone, where calligraphers wrote Spring Festival couplets on the spot and shared blessings with travelers. Meanwhile, the traditional Guangdong "Five-Piece" ensemble performed classic melodies, showcasing the cultural charm of the Lingnan region. Returning passengers praised the event for adding a joyful surprise to their journey.

Baiyun district will reportedly continue organizing heartwarming cultural activities at landmarks such as Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station and Terminal 2 of the airport, to further spread New Year greetings.

As a newly established cultural and tourism landmark, Terminal 3 blends Chinese and Lingnan architectural styles, featuring attractions such as an airside garden and a commercial street with arcade buildings, making it an important showcase for Baiyun's cultural and tourism appeal.
