On Feb 6, Guangzhou's Baiyun district held a groundbreaking group wedding at Terminal 3 of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, creatively linking the airport with a major high-speed rail station.

Eight couples embarked from Jiahe Wanggang Station and Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, respectively, and eventually reunited at the airport terminal to complete their ceremony.

The wedding featured traditional Chinese rituals, with couples dressed in horse-face skirts performing ceremonies such as bowing to heaven and earth and sharing a ceremonial wine cup. Each couple was also issued a formal marriage certificate. Many participants had personal connections to Jiahe Wanggang — some had met there years earlier, while others were local residents who had seen the area's transformation from old village homes to a modern airport terminal.

During the event, Baiyun district's civil affairs bureau announced the opening of two new outdoor wedding registration locations at Baiyun Station and Baiyun Airport Terminal 3. This increases the total number of "Most Beautiful Marriage Registration Sites" in the district to 11.

The Baiyun District Sweet Economy Industry Alliance stated that it plans to further integrate wedding services with tourism, dining, and cultural sectors to turn "romantic momentum" into sustained economic growth.
