The move came on the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday on Feb 24, signaling a quick start to growth for 2026.
Baiyun posted robust economic growth in 2025, with GDP exceeding 330 billion yuan, an increase of 5 percent compared to the previous year. Fixed-asset investment exceeded 100 billion yuan for the fifth consecutive year, and the output value of its "6+6+X" modern industrial clusters reached over 700 billion yuan. Domestic and foreign trade volumes both broke through the 100 billion yuan mark for the first time.
To promote high-quality growth, the district is accelerating urban renewal to free up industrial space. It is transforming low-efficiency industrial parks into high-value hubs, such as the Guangzhou Design City, which now hosts over 400 enterprises and generates annual revenue of more than 90 billion yuan.

Baiyun is also upgrading investment promotion efforts to attract leading firms insemiconductors, digital economy, and low-altitude sectors. It rolled out streamlined approval and funding services to improve the business climate, helping its market entities exceed 710,000 by the end of 2025.
By advancing the integration of manufacturing and services, this district is encouraging industrial upgrading. It backs digital transformation and service-oriented manufacturing, utilizing new industrial models to cultivate new quality productive forces and strengthen its position as a major growth engine for Guangzhou.
