The Lingnan Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum, designed by renowned Chinese architect He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and his team, is nearing completion and scheduled to begin trial operations in the third quarter of this year.

The project, located in Baiyun district of Guangzhou, embodies the core philosophy of TCM, "harmony between man and nature", integrating this concept into every detail of the design.

Chen Qiujun, director of the museum, highlighted the museum's unique natural mountain landscape, saying that the design team has incorporated this regional feature into the new museum, allowing visitors to enjoy panoramic mountain views from within and creating a distinctive dialogue with nature.

In addition to harmonizing with the natural environment, the design team has infused the museum with essential elements of Lingnan architecture. Traditional architectural symbols, such as the openness of arcades, the elegance of floral windows and winding corridors, are embedded in this modern structure, breathing new vitality into Lingnan cultural heritage.

Unlike traditional museums, which focus on static displays, the museum emphasizes interactive participation and immersive experiences. Using AI technology, it creates immersive diagnostic scenes where ancient doctors "travel" to the present to diagnose visitors. Visitors can also use AR devices to identify medicinal plants and participate in making herbal sachets, tea, and healthy snacks.
