Two major art exhibitions are being held in Baiyun district, Guangzhou. The In the Prime of Youth: the 5th Exhibition of Works by Guangdong Youth Academy of Painting opened on April 17, showcasing 111 works from 28 selected artists. The exhibition, held in the first-floor gallery of the Guangdong Academy of Painting in Baiyun New City, will run until June 3, except on Mondays.

Visitors can explore a diverse array of artworks, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, and watercolors, reflecting the creative spirit and societal engagement of young artists.

Du Ning, president of the Guangdong Youth Academy of Painting, said that the creative styles of these young painters are quite avant-garde.

Meanwhile, the Next Stop Mineral Pigment Color Art: Painting the Chromatic Reboot exhibition will take place from April 25 to May 24 at the Art Center of the Design Capital of Guangzhou. Showcased are works from nearly 100 global creators, including renowned mineral pigment artist Lian Yang.

The exhibition emphasizes the "revitalization of traditions", challenging the perception of mineral pigment as a museum-exclusive art form. It also includes interactive sessions and contributions from veteran artists and emerging talents worldwide.
