Mineral pigments art exhibition opens in Baiyun
The Next Stop Mineral Pigment Color Art: Painting the Chromatic Reboot exhibition kicked off on April 25 at the Art Center of the Design Capital of Guangzhou in Baiyun district.
This exhibition marks the first time Lian Yang, a leading figure in the mineral pigment art movement, is showcasing his work in Guangzhou. The exhibition features four of his signature works, which incorporate elements such as hanfu cloud patterns and anime mythical beasts, and showcases creations from nearly 100 global artists, bringing the millennia-old aesthetics of mineral pigments from museums into everyday life.
Chen Lin, the art director of the Art Center of the Design Capital of Guangzhou, emphasized that the exhibition aims to empower the mineral pigment art with three innovative dimensions: breaking traditional boundaries, integrating new media and diverse art forms, and fostering industry exchange among both renowned artists and emerging talents.
Running until May 24 and closed on Mondays, the exhibition includes a range of interactive activities designed to break down barriers for young creators and provide the public with an engaging experience of traditional culture.
