Baiyun district currently hosts 91 professional wholesale markets, accounting for 18 percent of Guangzhou's total and ranking third in the city. With a business area of 4.2 million square meters and approximately 29,000 merchants, the district is focusing on enhancing the functionality, updating the business formats, and improving the quality of its professional markets. It aims to set a benchmark for the transformation and upgrading of Guangzhou's professional wholesale markets, contributing positively to the city's high-quality development in trade.

The district's Sanyuanli Street is leveraging its "buy global, sell global" foundation to accelerate the internationalization of its leather and beauty industries. Currently, about 80 percent of its trade is international, with over 5,000 foreign merchants active daily.

In response to the growing demand for foreign-related services, the Sanyuanli Street International Volunteer Service Team was established, bringing together multilingual talents in English, Arabic, French, and Russian to integrate emergency rescue and trade services.
