Baiyun sees surge in tourists during May Day holiday
Baiyun district of Guangzhou witnessed a major surge in tourists and consumption during the May Day holiday, igniting consumer enthusiasm by integrating diverse new business models such as "performance +" and "business community +".
The district's main attractions welcomed nearly 1.05 million visitors, a 21.6 percent increase compared to the same period of last year, generating around 1 billion yuan ($146.98 million) in cultural tourism consumption, up 19 percent year-on-year.

Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area attracted 523,000 visitors with its rose exhibition, forest concerts, and coffee culture events, a 4.34 percent increase year-on-year. The newly opened "Ocean Paradise" in Guangzhou Children's Park drew 286,000 visitors, a 57.23 percent surge. Baiyun Lake Park saw a 4.72 percent rise with 111,000 visitors.
The Baiyun International Convention Center hosted the International Music and Food Carnival, featuring music, food, coffee, camping, and performances, attracting over 80,000 visitors.

Business communities in the district also thrived, with VeRyland Wonderland, the first large indoor VR entertainment complex in China at Baixin Plaza and Anhua Mall's Broadway-themed events drawing significant crowds.
Family tourism accounted for a large portion of revenue, supported by favorable weather conditions, enhancing outdoor and family-friendly experiences.
