Baiyun shuttlers claim 3 national badminton golds
Three badminton players from Guangzhou's Baiyun district claimed three golds, one silver and one bronze at the 2026 National Badminton Individual Championships, delivering a standout performance for the district.
The most historic victory came from 21-year-old Huang Kexin, who partnered with Ma Xixiang to win the mixed doubles title — Guangzhou's first national championship gold in 42 years. Huang, born in 2005 in Jianggao town's Julong village, also took bronze in women's doubles with Li Menghan.

Feng Xueying, 27, continued her dominance in women's doubles, securing her third consecutive national title with partner Chen Xiaofei. The Jianggao native has now won over 10 national and international women's doubles titles.
Liu Junrong, an 18-year-old also from Jianggao, captured the men's doubles gold with Chen Junting — his first senior national title — after finishing runner-up last year. He added a silver medal in mixed doubles, demonstrating remarkable versatility across disciplines.
All three athletes were groomed at Yuexiu District Jinghui Sports School under former world champion Lao Yujing before advancing to professional training. Huang is currently training with China's second national team, aiming to be promoted to the first team.
