Baiyun aims to become GBA robotics innovation hub
The 2026 Intelligent Robotics Development Conference was held at the Baiyun International Conference Center in Guangzhou on June 5, as the city's Baiyun district strives to establish itself as a hub for robotics innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
At the opening ceremony, the Guangdong Provincial Embodied Intelligence Training Ground was unveiled. This facility is the first in China to integrate demand-driven innovation, ecosystem aggregation, scenario demonstration, standard output, and talent development into a comprehensive enabling platform.

Concurrently, policy measures and guidelines were released to support the development of embodied intelligence, providing institutional support for data interface integration and product transaction flow.
The Guangdong Embodied Intelligence Application Scenario Challenge was launched, inviting global solutions to address industry issues. The Baiyun competition, starting June 6, will feature smart logistics, beauty production, retail services, and security emergency scenarios to test technological development and accelerate innovation.

During the conference, the Guangdong Embodied Intelligence Innovation Consortium was established, bringing together 11 key entities from the telecom, manufacturing, healthcare, and research sectors.
Baiyun is rapidly advancing its leadership in the intelligent robotics industry, having signed agreements with seven prominent companies and gathered 22 key enterprises in the robotics industry chain, achieving a production value of 5.62 billion yuan ($829.37 million) in 2025.
