The 2026 Baiyun District Dragon Boat Open kicked off at the East Lake of Baiyun Lake Park in Guangzhou on July 4, bringing together 24 teams and over 500 athletes competing across three categories.

Shimen Yagang Dragon Boat Team 1 claimed the Men's Village Group title, while Baiyun Lake Street Brilliant Dragon Boat Team won the Women's Open Group. The Datang Wujia Dragon Boat Club from Haizhu district took top spot in the Four-District Friendly Tournament, which invited teams from Tianhe, Haizhu, and Huangpu districts of Guangzhou to compete against the host Baiyun.

The opening ceremony for the finals featured traditional Lingnan customs, including a dragon boat eye-dotting ceremony, colorful parades, martial arts performances and Cantonese song performances, embodying the region's rich dragon boat heritage and the spirit of unity and tenacity.

As a core cultural and sports event of the 2026 Guangzhou Sports Consumption Season's Baiyun Division, the event is complemented by on-site carnival games and dragon boat-themed delicacies, driving deeper integration between competitive sports and cultural tourism consumption.
