The Yunhu Sports Center Sports Season kicked off on July 21 at the Baiyun Lake Rainbow Pickleball Court in Guangzhou, with the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Pickleball Charity Exhibition Match held on the same day.

The event, attended by over 200 representatives from various sectors, served as a youth exchange platform to boost integration among young people across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Taiwan.

The newly inaugurated venue, featuring seven standard courts, is open from 8 am to 11 pm daily, with supporting tennis and badminton facilities.

Trampoline world champion Cai Qizi and former Hong Kong 100m record holder TSUI Chi Ho praised the court's lighting and layout. They noted that pickleball is easy to learn and suitable for all ages, and can effectively connect young people through sports.

As the first phase of the larger Yunhu Sports Center, the court is jointly funded by the Hong Kong Federation of Guangzhou Associations and the Hong Kong Baiyun Association. The overall project covers 22,000 square meters with a total investment of 40 million yuan ($5.90 million).

Moving forward, Baiyun plans to upgrade local cultural and sports amenities by integrating Hong Kong and Macao resources, creating a new consumption scenario that combines sports, night markets, and light commercial activities.
