Meanwhile, 92 Baiyun athletes took home 24 gold, 12 silver, and 15 bronze medals at the Guangzhou Municipal Junior Track and Field Championships, topping the overall team rankings with a score totaling exactly 1,000 points.

On the national stage, Zhu Linzhuang, a Baiyun-trained athlete competing for the Guangdong Provincial Team, clinched silver in the men's 4×400m relay at the National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix.

Since 2020, Baiyun district has been integrating local sports and educational resources to establish a pyramid-style tiered training system spanning primary, middle and high schools. It has set up high-level school teams to balance academic study with professional sports training.

Through systematic tiered coaching and joint centralized training programs, promising talents like Zhu, who progressed from district school teams to municipal and then provincial squads, are continuously nurtured, ensuring a steady pipeline of high-quality reserve athletes for the future.
