The Xiaogang Economic Cooperative Society and Guangzhou Zhongchuang Zhifu Industrial signed an agreement on July 24 to jointly advance the Derun Reserved Land Project in the core area of Baiyun New City in Baiyun district, Guangzhou.

The project, independently developed by Xiaogang village, began with a self-raised fund of 120 million yuan ($17.7 million) and broke ground in December 2025.

The modern complex will feature a 13-story building with two underground levels, including a 5,000-square-meter business center, a 9,500-sq-m high-end hotel, a 5,000-sq-m underground parking lot, and 1,500 sq m of public space. It is precisely positioned as a high-quality urban complex integrating high-end hotels, headquarters offices, and business reception areas.

The project is currently in the early construction phase, with completion expected in July 2027. The Xiaogang Economic Cooperative Society is set to receive stable rental income of approximately 210 million yuan, supporting sustainable collective economic growth, according to the agreement.

Guangzhou Zhongchuang Zhifu Industrial will manage the project's operations, focusing on high-end hotel branding and business center pre-leasing.

The initiative marks a significant step toward transforming traditional village economies into proactive, value-driven ventures, enhancing regional business appeal and urban development.
