Baiyun sees robust economic growth in H1
Baiyun district of Guangzhou saw robust economic growth in the first half of this year thanks to its efforts to expand effective investment, stimulate consumer potential, and cultivate new-quality productive forces.
From January to June, the district's fixed-asset investment surpassed 70 billion yuan ($10.3 billion), growing by 12.1 percent year-on-year, while the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 61.89 billion yuan, marking a 5.7 percent year-on-year increase. Baiyun International Airport maintained its position as the nation's busiest airport, with passenger throughput of 43.33 million.

The district saw the landing of 42 new manufacturing projects, including the Felicity solar energy storage R&D and manufacturing base and the Guangsheng automotive industrial base, with a combined investment of more than 3.05 billion yuan completed. This contributed to a 16.2 percent increase in manufacturing investment, totaling over 7.24 billion yuan. Urban renewal investments exceeded 30 billion yuan, enhancing infrastructure, industrial facilities, and living environments.
In the consumer sector, new car sales stood out, reaching 10.6 billion yuan in retail volume, thanks to comprehensive provincial and municipal automotive consumption policies.

Baiyun district signed new investment agreements exceeding 90 billion yuan in the first half of this year, including two projects valued at over 10 billion yuan each, highlighting the rapid aggregation of new quality productive forces.
Implementation of key projects signifies the formation of a comprehensive industrial chain from R&D to application of technology in Baiyun district, with new energy storage, hydrogen energy, intelligent manufacturing, and biotechnology sectors advancing at a steady pace.
