The Dongguan West Link Line, starting in Dongguan West Railway Station, commenced operations on July 27, linking the Guangzhou-Huizhou and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity railways in South China's Guangdong province.

This new line allows residents of cities such as Guangzhou, Foshan, and Zhaoqing to travel to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport on a non-stop route.

The journey from Pazhou Intercity Station in Guangzhou to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station takes about 60 minutes, costing 54 yuan ($8) for the ticket. Meanwhile, the trip from Zhaoqing Station in Zhaoqing city to Shenzhen Airport Station takes about 139 minutes and costs 115 yuan.

With the line operational, travelers will soon enjoy a seamless 90-minute journey from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.

In an exciting development, the section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway from Zhuliu to Xintang South stations is also nearing its opening. This section spans 48.2 kilometers and includes seven new stations.

Once operational, this section will integrate with the already operational section from Xintang South to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport stations, connecting key areas such as Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
