Domestic Airline 9air unveiled the "Jiahe Wanggang" themed aircraft at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on Aug 11, marking the nation's first airplane livery themed after a metro station.

It came following a hit song named after the Jiahewanggang metro station in Guangzhou earlier this year, which has rekindled people's memories and triggered their emotions nationwide. The metro station opened in 2010 in Wanggang village in Jiahe subdistrict of Guangzhou's Baiyun district.

This creative endeavor connects city memories with aviation dreams, serving as a unique cultural vehicle to showcase the charm of Baiyun district as a livable, business-friendly, and tourist-friendly place. The aircraft's design cleverly merges "Jiahe Wanggang" with its homophone "Home and Prosperous Career", elevating the city's IP to embody warm aspirations for family harmony and career success.

The "Jiahe Wanggang" aircraft, a new addition to 9air's fleet, features 189 seats, including 12 premium economy seats for enhanced comfort. The livery draws inspiration from the dynamic flow of people at the Jiahewanggang metro station, using vibrant colors to depict travelers, couples, entrepreneurs, and Gen Z individuals.

Zhang Fei, president of 9air, said that this initiative represents not just a visual innovation but a commitment to local culture and development in collaboration with Baiyun district.

The "Jiahe Wanggang" aircraft is now operational, with plans to regularly serve 9air's network, connecting Guangzhou to inland areas and Southeast Asia.
