S China's 1st pilot-scale test platform for biomanufacturing lands in Baiyun
Guangzhou Baiyun Womei Biotechnology, a joint venture between Guangzhou Baiyun Industrial Investment Group and Suzhou Womei Biology, completed its business registration on Aug 18.
This marks the establishment of the first public pilot-scale test platform in the niche field of "biomanufacturing + beauty, food, and agriculture" in South China, with plans afoot for it to become operational by the first quarter of 2027.

Located in the Baiyun Blue Bay Bio-Manufacturing Industrial Park, the platform features 10 specialized functional zones, equipped with multi-level fermentation, purification, drying, and high-end testing facilities. It will offer comprehensive services to academic teams, startups, technological SMEs, and traditional enterprises undergoing technological transformation.
With a planned maximum intelligent fermentation capacity of 5 metric tons, the platform aims to enhance the industrialization success rate of scientific research from 30 percent to 80 percent, addressing the challenges faced in biomanufacturing.
