Zelos, creator of the L4 RoboVan (an autonomous urban delivery vehicle) and headquartered in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, has established a subsidiary in Baiyun district, Guangzhou, with a registered capital of 250 million yuan ($37.2 million).

According to Zelos' plan unveiled in Baiyun on Sept 10, the newly registered company will focus on the development and services of autonomous driving software, the production and sales of intelligent driving hardware kits, as well as the manufacturing and sales of complete vehicles.

On the same day, Zelos signed a strategic cooperation agreement with GAC Hino Motors, a leading commercial vehicle enterprise under GAC Group, to promote the autonomous driving industry in Guangzhou.

Qu Yuechuan, chief public affairs officer and senior vice-president of Zelos, said that Baiyun offers a robust market and industry resources, making it an ideal location for the company's expansion.

The district's strengths in information technology, electronics, and logistics have led to the formation of a comprehensive industrial cluster, creating synergies across the industrial and supply chains, Qu said, adding that the company will fully leverage Baiyun's talent pool, strategic location, and industrial clusters to form strong partnerships and complementary advantages.

With R&D centers established in Suzhou, Beijing, and Silicon Valley in the United States, Zelos has established a smart city logistics network spanning over 100 cities worldwide.
