Guangdong AVCiT Technology Holding, a Baiyun-based listed company specializing in distributed audiovisual systems, has played a pivotal role in the operation of the Pinglu Canal, which opened to navigation on Sept 16.

The 134.2-kilometer-long canal, China's first State-coordinated canal connecting a river system directly to the sea, has created a convenient and cost-effective passage from inland Guangxi and Southwest China to the sea, linking ASEAN, the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

AVCiT supplies the distributed integrated management and collaboration systems for the canal's Nanning and Qingnian command centers. The systems enable dual-center backup with zero downtime, remote ship control with under-2-millisecond latency, and a digital twin platform that mirrors the entire canal in real time.

Founded in 2010 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2022, AVCiT is a national-level "little giant" enterprise. It recorded revenue of 229 million yuan ($34.18 million) in 2025, up 16.58 percent year-on-year, and 105 million yuan in the first half of 2026, up 48.92 percent year-on-year, driven by strong growth in AI products.

Its rise reflects Baiyun district's supportive business environment and growing innovation ecosystem. The district is now home to a cluster of leading tech firms in fields such as new energy storage, hydrogen energy, and photovoltaics, accelerating the formation of a modern industrial system.
