1.14m visitors: Baiyun's National Day tourism boom
During the seven-day National Day holiday, Guangzhou's Baiyun district offered a rich cultural and tourism feast, welcoming approximately 1.14 million visitors to its main attractions and generating over 1 billion yuan ($149 million) in cultural tourism consumption.
Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area remained the top draw with around 640,800 visitors, integrating patriotic education, folk culture, and wellness experiences.

Autumn ecology also proved popular: Yunxi Botanical Garden hosted a National Day flower show, while Yunluo Botanical Garden featured a butterfly exhibition and nighttime concerts with creative markets.
Families favored urban parks. Baiyun Lake Park received 157,800 visitors and offered seven themed outdoor parent-child camps, ranging from radio research to paddleboarding. Guangzhou Children's Park welcomed 227,200 guests, while Xingji World Nanhu Park saw a 15.18 percent increase to 12,300 visitors.
Museums and science venues drew large crowds, with the Xuelei Fragrance Museum providing a multi-sensory immersive experience.

Nighttime tourism continued to expand: the Shijing River light show debuted from Oct 1 to 3, and the Baiyun International Beer and Food Carnival drew about 50,000 visitors over five days, generating 20 million media impressions.
Trendy entertainment and events added further energy, including the inaugural Baiyun International Animation and Game Carnival and the Honor of Kings KPL Grand Finals 2026.
