Established in 2024, the BDA has capitalized on the innovation strength of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to create a globally influential design competition. Over the past two years, its influence has steadily increased, spreading to 69 countries and regions. It has collected over 22,000 submissions and attracted over 500 top industry experts, becoming a vital showcase of China's design capabilities.
This year's competition features two categories: Product Design and Industrial Design, with specific subcategories to cater to a diverse array of creative groups.
With a prize pool of 4.1 million yuan ($613,000) and 326 awards, it employs a dual-chair evaluation system, featuring Professor Wang Min from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and World Design Organization President Pradyumna Vyas, ensuring a rigorous multi-stage selection process.
Businesses, design organizations, higher education institutions, research teams, and individual creators from around the world are all eligible to participate in the competition, with the deadline for submissions set for Dec 12.
